This half day experience will provide a fantastic insight into the handling and training of Birds of Prey.

Enjoy a day on the farm going back to basics and working with nature. Discover the magical bond between man and dog as you learn about the special skills developed by shepherds over the centuries. You will be working with a breed of dog that has the ability to communicate with its human partner in a way that is quite unique. It is this communication that is used to create a partnership between man and dog and therefore enable them to work together in harmony. This is not a skill that can be taught in a short space of time but you will learn the basics of this “language” and we will help you to “talk” to the dog and to listen to what it is trying to say to you. The pace will be controlled to enable you to understand the dog and the sheep and to learn your part in the game. The package includes expert tuition provided by Barbara Sykes, a shepherdess, farmer and dog trainer who has represented her country at International Sheep Dog Trials. The experience lasts up to 5 hours.
